Partnerships play an important role in success, and collaboration is more critical now than ever. Understanding the basis of partnering can help you lay the foundation for more effective and meaningful partnerships, further supporting your organization's mission.
Building on the work of the Partnership Brokers Association, CCVO and JS Daw & Associates brought a hands-on introductory partnership course to Calgary. This intensive one-day training was designed for participants from all backgrounds including business, nonprofit, community, government, and philanthropy.
This one-day course provided an overview of partnering principles, frameworks, and practices. A balanced approach of presentation, discussion, and practical application was used to help participants:
Explore the role of partnering and have a clearer understanding of when to partner and when not to partner;
Learn the ‘guiding principles’ behind building meaningful and sustainable partnerships;
Gain knowledge of the ‘Partnering Cycle’, a framework for the development and management of partnerships;
Enhance partnering skills which have the potential to greatly increase the efficiency and effectiveness of participant partnerships
