Relaunch of Funding for Community Projects

The Government of Alberta has reopened the Community Initiatives Program (CIP) Project-Based grant stream, which provides funding to new community-based programs, initiatives, events, and publications.

Organizations can now apply to the September 15 intake of the CIP Project-Based grant stream. Funding will focus on events, festivals, programs, and projects delivered in innovative and creative ways that align with public health measures.

The CIP Project-Based grant was paused in May to reallocate funds to nonprofits and charities who focus on food security, shelter, and housing, and addictions and mental health supports, and to help organizations maintain their core operations.
