Lobbyists Act Review Committee Recommends Maintaining Exemption for Public-Benefit Nonprofits

Great news! Yesterday, the Standing Committee in charge of the Lobbyists Act review chose to maintain the exemption for public-benefit nonprofit organizations. Thanks to our members and other organizations that wrote to the Standing Committee, filled out our survey, and voiced support for the current exemption, the committee saw the value in the ability of nonprofits to advocate and further their missions without fear of scrutiny.

The recommendations from the committee will now go to the Legislative Assembly for approval in the fall. CCVO will continue to monitor this file on your behalf and keep you updated on significant developments.
