Now Live! The 2023 State of the Alberta Nonprofit Sector Survey
By Karen Ball, President & CEO
Dear Alberta nonprofit sector colleagues:
Another Survey! I know, it might not be the most exciting news, but this one will only require 15 minutes of your time and is crucial for addressing the most important issues facing Alberta nonprofits. We are looking for responses from all nonprofits operating in Alberta. Your voice matters. We need your input.
Fill out the 2023 State of the Sector Survey here!
Since 2011, CCVO has conducted a State of the Alberta Nonprofit Sector Survey on a near annual basis. The survey is vitally important to help us understand and share the experiences of our sector with each other, partners in Government, funders and other stakeholders. CCVO uses findings from this survey to raise our strong collective voice for action, and support policies and programs that help all nonprofits make an impact.
Change is happening in our communities at an increasing rate, evidenced in our headlines and shared experiences. In just one year, the use of artificial intelligence tools has skyrocketed, and is dramatically changing how people across sectors find information and do their work. Climate change is altering the landscape of our work, too. More dramatic weather events have displaced people, added volatility to food prices, made outdoor air hazardous, and changed how we allocate resources.
All this change underlines the importance of gathering information from our sector regularly, so that we can leverage opportunities, collaborate effectively and find our seat at tables where solutions are being formed.
Leading up to the provincial election earlier this year, we developed 5 Platform Priorities in partnership with The Nonprofit Vote (TNPV) that responded to feedback from the sector. The priorities were aimed at bolstering nonprofit capacity by creating a solid foundation to work from. They include: Appropriate Funding, A Workforce Strategy, Better Data Collection, A Door to Government, and An Empowered Sector. We have gained traction on three of these priorities and are still actively working on them. Sign up for CCVO and TPNV updates to keep up with our activities throughout the year, and follow us on social media.
It’s time to look out once again - we need to hear from you! This year we hope to set a new record on responses from communities across our province, with distribution help from the Government of Alberta - and from you. Please complete the survey by October 13 and share the survey link widely within your nonprofit networks. Your voice is critical no matter the size or focus of your organization.
Thank you so much for your time and your expertise,
Karen Ball
