Calgary City Council Passes Social Procurement Strategy

Yesterday, City Council voted in favour of social procurement recommendations, which many members of the Social Policy Collaborative , including CCVO, supported. The Social Procurement scoping report, recommendations and budget were approved in a 12-3 vote, with the addition of a request to bring the following information to the Priorities and Finance Committee in Q1:

  1. The Terms of Reference for the proposed Advisory Task Force

  2. Scoping of three proposed pilot projects

  3. Work plan

We look forward to continuing to support our partners on this important issue and offer kudos to members of Social Policy Collaborative (particularly Momentum), City Council, and administration for making this work a priority.
