Applications Open for Phase II of Calgary Emergency Resilience Fund

The Emergency Resilience Fund (ERF) is now accepting applications for Phase II of funding. Funding will be available for social service initiatives facing increased or new demand associated with the COVID-19 pandemic that cannot meet that demand with current resources.

In order to be eligible for funding, organizations must:

  • be registered as a nonprofit under the Societies Act or the Companies Act;

  • operate within the Calgary city limits; and

  • have record of effective program or service delivery in the past.

Organizations must be able to provide immediate and effective support if funding is received. Applicants must also have clearly stated objectives and an evaluation plan for the program being funded.

Unlike Phase I, organizations may still apply for this round of funding if they applied for Social Services Support for COVID-19 funding and/or the COVID-19 Community Response Fund. This funding only applies to social services organizations – arts and culture organizations will continue to receive funding through Calgary Arts Development. Civic and community partners of the City of Calgary in need of operating funds will continue to go through their City liaison.

The deadline to apply is July 7, 2020. Decisions on funding will be made by early August.

More information on Phase II of the Emergency Resilience Fund and instructions for applicants can be found here. The terms of reference of the Emergency Resilience Fund can be found here.
