City Council Invites Feedback on Service Plans and Budgets for 2019-2022

Starting next week, City of Calgary staff will give committees of Council high-level previews of the 2019-2022 service plans. The City of Calgary develops service plans and budgets every four years, during which City Council, City staff, and Calgarians work to create a balance between investing in public service and keeping tax rates affordable. It’s an important conversation about the future of our city and you can participate by attending committee meetings and signing up to speak. Note that this is not a forum to voice concerns, but rather to give insights and strategic input on relevant topics. Over the next few weeks, topics for discussion will occur as follows:

September 4 – A Well-Run City

September 5 – A Prosperous City

September 6 – A City that Moves

September 12 - A Healthy and Green City

September 13 – A City of Safe and Inspiring Neighbourhoods

September 17 – Civic Partners

Find a detailed description of of topics covered at each committee meeting here. These discussions will also be live-streamed - tune in here!

This engagement process is a follow-up from last spring when Calgarians were asked for feedback in an online survey. Service plans and budgets for 2019-2022 will be finalized and approved by City Council in November 2018 and will take effect in January 2019. During this process, CCVO will provide updates about developments that are particularly relevant to the nonprofit sector.
