CCVO’s submission to Alberta’s public inquiry into anti-Alberta energy campaigns

On November 28, CCVO made a submission to Steve Allan, Commissioner of the public inquiry into anti-Alberta energy campaigns. Our letter expresses full support for the recent submission to the inquiry by the Muttart Foundation. We have expressed our concerns about the potential for the inquiry to contribute to an ‘advocacy chill’ on the nonprofit sector in Alberta and provided background information that outlines our concerns.

We encourage nonprofits in Alberta to submit their perspectives on the inquiry to submissions@albertainquiry.ca or by visiting the Alberta public inquiry website. We welcome organizations to use our letter as a template. Submissions to the inquiry have not all been made public through the website, although, if you do submit, you may choose to share your submission more broadly with the public.
